GO-Coating – one of the world‘s first chromium-free coatings by Rembrandtin
The R&D specialists at Rembrandtin Coatings, a company part of KANSAI HELIOS Group, were the first to develop
a chromium-free coating system: REMISOL EB 5320. This environmentally friendly product provides a hydrolysis and corrosion resistance comparable to chromate-containing solutions.
Environmental awareness along KANSAI HELIOS products – classified under A+
HELIOS TBLUS successfully developed the Helios Spektra interior wall paint, which already proudly holds the A+ classification and is sold in over ten countries. Based on the emissions, the quantity of volatile organic compound (VOC) released in the air ranges from Class C, with the highest percentage of VOC, to A+, which guarantees healthier air.
HELIOS Resins, a special business unit within the KANSAI HELIOS Group, has been awarded with the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certificate in September 2021. They now offer a range of polyester resins, made from sustainable raw materials that are certified in all parts of the value chain back to the point of origin.

Providing paint to Amagasaki Tunnel Art Project
Kansai Paint provided paints to “Amagasaki Tunnel Art Project”. The project was carried out by Amagasaki city in response to a suggestion from residents who wanted to brighten up the elevated tunnel. With the help of the students of the art club of Amagasaki Municipal Osho Junior High School, a mural was painted on the tunnel.
Donation of "anti-virus partition". To support infection control at COVID-19 vaccination site
Kansai Paint donated "anti-virus partition" adopting Kansai Paint's original plaster paint technology to The Kamata Medical Association (Ota-ku, Tokyo) on July 29 to support measures to prevent COVID-19 infection at the vaccination site.
Optimization of distillation and wastewater treatment processes in HELIOS
The company's ongoing objective is to reduce the amount of waste in all production facilities. In light of this all investments of the past few years were focused on the modernization of the solvent distillation process and the additional wastewater treatment process.
HELIOS is taking the necessary steps to minimize the negative impact of product production on the environment. Using bio-based raw materials, collecting and reusing waste from production, and reusing recycled materials are just a few among the company’s many sustainable actions towards a greener future.
MURMURATIONS – An art installation at Matka Chowk, Chandigarh
Kansai Nerolac, India undertaken a project with an intent “to create better urban spaces” under “Breathing City” initiative and “to create environment for a healthy and beautiful future”. This was a part of CSR Program “Restoration of Buildings and sites of Historical Importance” in consultation with “Heritage Committee of Chandigarh”.
Construction of Science Lab & Rest room, Renovation of Mid day meal kitchen area and Donation of Computer system & UPS to Schools
Kansai Nerolac India had taken initiatives in Promoting Education by aiding the construction of Science lab & Rest rooms at Government High School near Hosur plant. Renovation work for the mid day meal kitchen area was also done at government recognized school. Also, Computer systems along with UPS were donated to promote digital education among the students at Jhunjera School near Sayakha Plant.
Belinka Perkemija presented with the FDI Award Slovenia 2020 in the category “green”
Belinka Perkemija, d.o.o., a member of the HELIOS, was presented with the FDI Award Slovenia 2020, which Republic of Slovenia awards to foreign investors in the Slovenian business environment for their exceptional contributions. The company received the award in the “green” category for their actions to preserve the nature and a clean environment.
Thermoplastic Road markings were done on Roads and Flyover Bridges
As a part of CSR initiative, “Thermoplastic Road Marking Work” is done at Worli Sea Face from Sea Link point to flyover. Kansai Nerolac Paints India has received recognition and appreciation from Local Municipal Department (BMC) and as well as from State Ministry Authorities for our work. They recognized our work and our organization on Twitter as well.
We established Disaster Support Committee after earthquake (6,9 richter scale)which occurred on 30/10/2020 in Izmir. The Committee analyzed the damage. We provided support to members of the local community affected by the earthquake with a budget of 50000 €. This Support was coordinated by the Metropolitan Municipal Authority who channeled it to eligible fellow citizens as all other contributions. We also provided some support to our employees who suffered loses from the earthquake.
Installation of RO Plant and Education Enhancement campaign for local community
Kansai Nerolac, India installed an RO Plant with 500 LPH capacity at Old Aged Home. Also, As a part of CSR initiative, “EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT CAMPAIGN” was organized by KNPL in nearby villages. People from all ages attended various Behavioral Training sessions & Yoga Sessions.
Organized Free Eye Checkup & Cataract Surgery Camp
Kansai Nerolac, India organized a “Free Eye Check- up and Cataract Surgery” camp at Goindwal Sahib. The experienced doctors team and support staff carried out the eye checkup activities for the individuals and successfully conducted about 100 surgeries for Cataract problems.
Distribution of PPE Kits to individuals & Equipment donation to Primary health Centre
Kansai Nerolac, India distributed Personal protective equipment such as Masks and Sanitizer to Traffic police staff and underprivileged individuals at Lote, Maharashtra. Various personal protective equipment such as Handheld Temperature Reader, Oxygen Meter, Mask & Sanitizer were donated to 2 Primary Health Centre near Sayakha, Gujarat.
Donation Anti Mosquito Paint and Masks to Uganda Schools
Kansai Plascon Uganda announced a donation of 4,000 litters of the company's Anti Mosquito Paint to the Ministry of Education ad Sports and face masks to local school *for the safety and well-being of children and educators to contribute healthcare of local community.
The Mosquito-repellent paint “Kansai Anti-Mosquito Paint” was featured in SDGs-themed online English lecture and writing correction service for junior and senior high school students
Kansai Paint has continued initiatives to spread mosquito-repellent paint “Kansai Anti-Mosquito Paints (AMP)” to African Regions, with the assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Our AMP initiative was featured in "Smart Lecture Correction, Writing Method - Advanced-", online English lecture and writing correction services (Keirinkan). it has been used at educational sites throughout Japan.
At the Rembrandtin Lack, a company part of HELIOS, a dedicated team together with external partners and experts have taken on the challenge to formulate and develop Remsolar, a new series of coatings designed to protect backsheets.
HELIOS donates disinfectant for surfaces and hands in Slovenia
During the coronavirus pandemic HELIOS‘s companies offered a hand to several organizations whose efforts were crucial for curbing the spread of the coronavirus in Slovenia. HELIOS’s companies donated more than 1,200 litters of HELIOS disinfectant for hands and surfaces in half-liter packaging to schools, kindergartens, health centres, nursing homes and other institutions. The company Belinka Perkemija donated 10,000 liters of Belox HP6 disinfectant to the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief.

Low Temperature Curing Emulsion Coating for Domestic Heating Radiators
Kansai Altan Boya San. (Turkey) is implementing a switch plan which involves introducing a new emulsion-based primer for domestic heating radiators. The current water reducible technology requires a considerably high energy in curing, releasing also high amounts of volatile organic compounds to the environment. The focus of the current project is to reduce the environmental impact of conventional product by reducing both the energy requirement and the amount of VOC released to the environment, which occur simultaneously during drying and curing the product in customer paint shops.
