Policy and Basic Approach

The Kansai Paint Group strives to enhance health and safety management on a global basis to ensure that its employees can work in safety and good health. We implement regular health and safety activities and promote a culture in which employees are aware of risks and warn each other as necessary to prevent accidents Groupwide.

Structure & System

The Global Safety and Quality Promotion Department (GSQ) works to prevent fires, spills, and accidents, with the first priority being to protect human life and health.

Initiatives

Occupational Safety and Health

Amid restrictions on movement due to the COVID-19 pandemic in FY2021, the department established and performed a remote safety diagnosis.
In FY2022, GSQ members visited Kansai Helios (Slovenia), Kansai Altan Boya Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. (Turkey), and U.S. Paint Corporation (U.S.A.) to conduct safety and quality assessments of their factories. Although safety regulations and laws differ somewhat from country to country, the fundamental question of “why do we do it” is the same. Japan, where the GSQ head office is located, takes the lead in sharing objectives and learning from all Group companies. By utilizing a centrally based environmental health and safety diagnosis, GSQ is moving forward on a project where guidance is not only provided from Japan, but which also encompasses an in-depth understanding of the merits and demerits of strategies across various regions, facilitating the implementation of effective safety and quality measures and nurturing leaders in each locale.
